Sun Pictures acquires Vaalu rights

With Simbu and Hansika playing the lead roles in the upcoming film Vaalu is progressing with its shooting schedule at fast pace.

The latest update is that Sun Pictures acquired the

distribution rights of STR's Vaalu. Sun pictures grabbed the rights for a fancy price and for the first time release Simbu's film. It also can be assumed that SUN TV bagged satellite rights of the movie.

Vijay Chander is weilding megaphone for this romantic comedy entertainer. Santhanam, VTV Ganesh, Naren and Sri Ranjani are playing key roles in the movie which has music scores given by Thaman and cinematography by Shakthi. S S Chakravarthy is producing Vaalu under NIC Arts banner.

Suriya - Linguswamy's film on sets from August

Suriya has singed up a new film in the direction of Lingusamy for the first time. The combo film will hit the floors from August.

Samantha will be romancing Suriya in Lingusamy directorial

new film. It was couple of times Linguswamy couldn't team up with Suriya. Now everything is on board and the duo film is on cards.

Director Lingusamy has narrated the story of the film and Suriya impressed with that and gave his nod for the film. Other details of Suriya-Linguswamy's film will be informed officially shortly.

Thalaivaa to set new records on its release

Vijay's much awaited film Thalaivaa is gearing up for its release soon. Currently post-production works are at full swing. The film has sky rocketing pre-release bussiness and filmmakers are planning to release in record number of theaters worldwide.

Thalaivaa might hit the big screens in the second

week of August. It is also being planned that the film to be dubbed in to telugu and release with tamil version on the same date. Currently discussions are progressing for the dubbed version of the film.

Thalaivaa casts Amala Paul as Vijay's love interest while Santhanam, Sathyaraj and Ragini Nandwani are playing vital roles in the movie. Story

Narasimham (Surya) starts undercover operations on dangerous smuggling activities of Bhai (Mukesh Rishi) himself turning as a NCC school teacher. On his duties once Narasimham gets the helpful evidence on Bhai so that he rule out all illegal activities and comes to known the hand of Danny who is a drug dealer from African country. What is next is the rest of the story ?...

Performances

Suriya is the heart and soul of the film and carried the intense of the role with his matured performance. He is handsome in romantic scenes with Hansika and Anushka. He does 100 % justice to cop role. Anushka has no wider scope for action and only sizzled glamorously in songs.

Hansika does a neat performance as a student who falls for her teacher. Vijay Kumar is good at his performance.

Santhanam as usual thrilled with his one liners comedy punches and so Vivek as inspector. Danny played his role at his best and other are good.

Technical Analysis

Devi Sri Prasad tunes for song are ok and background is just ok and sounds too loud in intense scenes. Cinematography by Priyan is top-notch with colors in songs and action scenes in South African locations are showcased amazingly. Editing needed much more scissoring. Production values are standard.

Analysis

Singam story takes off with Suriya joining as a NCC school teacher and comes in to the story with impact of smuggling and drug trafficking. The story lacks its pace till Suriya making his entry as DSP. It takes to full to full action entertaining with bashing goons.

Second half starts with the same pace in the end of first half but slowly the scenes one by one looks like a lengthy dragging. Finally the pace takes up with racy action episodes. Vivek, Santhanam added the entertaining values with their one liners and comic timings. Climax is a big thumbs down.

Hari showed his immense directorial skills in action scenes and screenplay. It is more over has overdosage of action scenes and lacks emotional content. The film will be enjoyed more by masses.
