Mariyaan Movie Review

Zustcinema Mariyaan Rating :- 3.25/5
Story
Mariyaan (Dhanush) a fisherman at the sea coast earns his
bread and butter from the sea and enjoys every moment of his livelihood. On his
journey he comes in touch with Panimalar (Parvathi) and falls for her at first
sight. His journey turns at a sudden and leaves to Sudan for his employment. When he
was to return to India
after two years , terrorists kidnaps Mariyan and his friends. Rest of the
story is How Maryan makes himself return to India...
Performances
Dhanush once again gave a excellent performance as a
suffering Maryan. He is perfectly suited for the role and his emotional scenes
are connective.
Parvathy Menon is good in her villiage belle role. She is
simply beauty and performed with ease. Her on-screen chemistry with Dhanush
came out well.
Christopher Minnie is effective in his role , Appukutty is
impressive and Jagan is ok
Technical Analysis
AR.Rehman musical scores are good and his background score
is effective. Cinematography is excellent and it is the one of the asset for
the film. Dialogues are good at parts and production values are standard.
Analysis
Maryan picks up the first half with Dhanush spell bound
performance and his journey of love towards Parvathy Menon. On go the pace
suddenly falls down and the intense drama starts which leaves the audience
bitter boring.
The second half takes the pace the suffering of Indian
Migrates in Sudan
region and emotions will stick audience to the character. But the same
repeats with the pace while involving to the story. Screenplay is too sluggish
and climax is a big minus for the film.
Main plot of the film is connective but its is too lengthy
to digest. Dhanush love making scenes are well scripted.
ZC Take :-
Have a Watch for Maryan
